Our Baite

A baita is a traditional alpine cabin made of stone and wood. In the past, it served as summer quarters for shepherds, farmers, and their livestock. Our baite preserve local cultural history by combining traditional architecture with clean, timeless design. Reclaimed wood and natural stone have been preserved but are symbiotically complemented by contemporary accents. The result is spaces that offer the warmth and comfort of a nest while also exuding a calm, modern aesthetic.

Baita TRE

This Baita can accommodate 2–3 adults and one child. Downstairs, you’ll find the spacious open-concept kitchen by LAGO Design, decorated in forest-inspired colors. The wood-burning fireplace and daybed make for cozy evenings. The antique dining table seats 8 people.

Upstairs, there is a bathroom with a shower and toilet. From the floating LAGO bed, you can enjoy the view of the mountains as soon as you wake up. While sipping your first coffee of the day, you can listen to the birds chirping on the panoramic balcony just outside.

Kids love the cozy sleeping spot on mattresses under the wooden ceiling. They reach their “cave” via a ladder. Just like in Heidi – only without the straw!

Baita DUE

This baita is our cozy little nest for two adults. It sits high above the other two baite – right next to the hot tub and our fruit terraces.

Downstairs you’ll find the wood-fired sauna, the bathroom with shower and toilet, and a small coffee bar. Upstairs, you’ll sleep in the floating double bed in front of the panoramic balcony – warmed by the wood-burning stove. A magnificent view of the Valchiavenna mountains is included.

A few years ago, life returned to a place once shrouded in silence—Ronco Nuovo was reborn, radiating new splendor while honoring its history. A place where tradition remains palpable and the present finds a home.

The outdoor area

The terraces open up to the landscape, making nature a constant companion. Between the cabins, there are places to linger—sometimes in the sun, sometimes in the shade of the trees, always with a view of the open landscape. Here, the indoors and outdoors blend together. Life moves outdoors.

Centerpiece.

The heart of Ronco Nuovo is the pergola, featuring a large cedarwood table, an outdoor kitchen, a pizza oven, and a fire pit. It’s the gathering place for enjoyment and togetherness – and for breathtaking views. A place for long evenings.

Those looking for a quiet spot during the day will find plenty of secluded areas on the other small terraces throughout the grounds.

Fire & Water.

Our small pool is located near the fruit terraces: it serves as a place to cool off in the summer and can be used as a hot tub on cooler days. It is heated in the traditional way with wood.

Right next to it is the sauna in Baita DUE, which can accommodate up to four people and is also heated with wood.

Relaxation, far from the trappings of showmanship and with a very natural understanding of luxury.
